~ Golden Doula and Lactation ~

Hey, I’m Brit.

As your doula, I’d love to hear about your hopes for your ideal birth, and empower you with the knowledge to feel confident and supported every step of the way.

As a lactation consultant, I’ll help you navigate breast/chest feeding, and support you as you find the ways to feed your baby that work best for you and your whole family.

I welcome and support all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, religions, and abilities. Serving Golden, Jeffco, Denver, and Boulder counties.

“5 stars! Brit was a calm, nurturing presence before, during, and after the birth of our first child. She supported both me and my husband in all the ways we requested… and in all the ways we didn’t even know we needed! Brit eased my anxiety, honored my birth plan, anticipated my needs, and advocated for my wellbeing throughout the labor and delivery process. We would highly recommend her doula services to anyone wanting to be cared for in every way imaginable during the journey into parenthood!”

“We are so glad that Brit was the doula for the birth of our first child! Her calm presence was such a gift, and she also provided the information that I needed to help me advocate for myself with medical professionals. Brit was the perfect fit for our family!”

Julie and Ken

“Brit is an angel. I couldn’t have a successful delivery if she was not around. Helped a lot with the breathing techniques and supportive advice and ideas.

Salma and Muhammad

“Brit made us feel supported, prepared and empowered for labor and delivery. She helped us run through so many potentials that we hadn’t even considered and encouraged us to visualize our birth preferences, while staying open minded and flexible to options that would ultimately lead to our goal of delivering a healthy baby. Brit is also really in tune to physically provide comfort to a laboring person by offering positions and adjustments that help ease contractions.”

Bridget and Jim

“Brit’s skillful knowledge, intuition, strength, calming presence, and professionalism are unparalleled. I know my birth would not have been what it was without her incredible assistance!

Full Spectrum Doula Services

As a doula, I’ll help you to envision your perfect birth, and to learn all you need to know to feel supported on every step of your journey. Together, we’ll come up with preferences so that you feel empowered and prepared for your birth.

I support birthing people, partners, and babies during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum in the following ways:

  • Physical: massage, touch, and positioning suggestions to ease the sensations of labor.
  • Emotional: reassurance, calming breath support, compassion, encouragement, and empowerment.
  • Educational: evidence-based research about common medical terms and procedures that frequently come up during pregnancy, labor, and immediately after birth.
  • Advocacy: facilitate communication to ensure that you are heard, empowered, and have informed consent for yourself and your baby, at all times.
What exactly does a doula do?

Doulas are non-medical, professionally trained, birth support people who can provide continuous support, encouragement and guidance, during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Data shows that having a doula:

  • Reduces labor length, unwanted epidural, unwanted cesarean, postpartum depression and anxiety, and
  • Increases: spontaneous birth, full term gestation, APGAR scores, breastfeeding, and satisfying birth experience.
